Overview

SlowDwn is a focus tool that adds intentional friction to distracting apps and sites. This policy explains what we process, what stays on your device, and how account features work.

On-device shaping

Friction—such as pauses, shields, or browser overlays—runs on your device (Chrome extension, iOS, or Android). We do not upload your browsing content, URLs you visit, page content, or network packet payloads for shaping.

Account & sync

If you create an account, we store information needed to operate the service, including your email, name (if provided), authentication credentials, selected services, settings, and usage summaries you choose to keep (for example phase progress or session history). That data syncs so you can use the dashboard and link the extension or mobile apps.

Waitlist & onboarding

During beta signup we may ask optional questions (persona, distractions, tools tried, platform interest, founding interest) so we can prioritize the product. We use that information for product development and to email you about beta invites and founding access.

Analytics

Our website may use privacy-conscious analytics (for example Vercel Analytics and optional Microsoft Clarity) to understand aggregate traffic and improve the site. These tools are separate from on-device shaping in the extension or apps.

Third parties

We use service providers to run the product (for example hosting, database, and transactional email). They process data only to provide those services on our behalf.
